Spotlight Dance Works will follow all guidelines set by the CDC, MDHHS and Macomb County Health Department in order to keep our dancers and staff as safe as possible.  The below guidelines are subject to change in accordance with the CDC/MDHHS/MCHD. Please review this information from MDHHS or MCHD as it relates to quarantine protocols.

SDW has an established COVID-19 response and notification plan. Should SDW become aware of any cases or contamination, all affected students, staff and teachers will be notified via email as soon as possible. Should an event occur, SDW will take all necessary steps to properly close off, disinfect and clear any studio or area needed.  Should the need arise, any classes affected may move to virtual Zoom classes until the studio is cleared for classes to resume. There will be no refunds for classes that are required to move to Zoom.

Please note the following SDW Protocols and Policies:

• Only parents of Pre and Mini level dancers are permitted to sit in the lobby during class hours. For those parents permitted inside, please limit one adult per dancer. We ask siblings and extended family to remain at home whenever possible. Parents of our Junior, Teen and Advanced Teen dancers are encouraged to drop off and pick up students without entering the building.

• ZOOM will remain an option for any dancer experiencing viral symptoms or quarantined due to exposure. We also offer make-up lessons for any absence so long as the studio is made aware of the absence before the start of class. Please reach out to the studio for further information should the need arise.

• Spotlight will continue to regularly sanitize all high touch surfaces and areas. Teachers will offer hand sanitizer to students as they enter and exit the classroom.

• SDW has an established onsite COVID supervisor who will be in attendance during all class hours to ensure all protocols are followed. 

 

• SDW staff and dancers are the only people permitted in the building during class hours. 

 

• Dancers age 7 or younger may be accompanied by one adult during their classes only.

 

• Dancers age 8 and older must enter without an adult.

 

 

Parents must consider the following before bringing their child to dance each day:

• Have they or their child experienced any of the following symptoms recently? Fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, muscle or body aches, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea? If yes, stay home. 

• Have you participated in international travel by airplane in the last 14 days? If yes, stay home.

• In the last 14 days, have you had close contact with a confirmed/probable COVID-19 case? If yes, stay home.​
